Life is so sweet! You can always look and find the sweetest things ever! Spring is peeking it's little head out today and the SUN is shining through! My first seeds have sprouted!!!! Today is filled with sunshine. I have neglected posting for quite a while now.... Life has tried to take it's tole on us, being jobless, and my dad dieing, my husband now has diabetes, and well... they say I probably have cancer! Well , there is still so much beauty in this world to drink up!!! We will still go on loving life , and creating things, and being with the sweet people I love so much!! Right??? So ... we go on and live each day to it's fullest, look for the beauty in every single raindrop, and petal, and insect, and smile and laugh!! I love life!!! So let the sun shine through!!!!!

Poppy Paradise
My long awaited poppies have begun to show their pretty little faces! These little flowers love to shout out their presence in a beautiful array of colors , bright enough to put any ball gown to shame. I love growing Shirley Poppies, but it has been a few years since they have graced us with their appearance. Thank you , Thank you , Thank you !!!
Oh to be a "fairy" and wear one of these delicate beauties as a gown!

Life is spinning by!!
Well the summer...and my life!!! Keeps spinning by!!!!! We have had a lot of fun as a family, but every day seems to be slipping through my fingers like water!!! We have had rain forest weather... ( I was pretty sure we lived in a desert ...but oh well...) The days have been cool and wet and the roses are absolutely in rose heaven ...Or maybe I am... I think my peas are pretty happy as well, not to mention my beautiful red lettuce ...both of which I have never been successful with before.
I have been sewing too... currently 5 little flower girl dresses, aprons, doll clothes, and hopefully soon skirts and jackets! I will be including patterns for these items in my store soon!
My camera and I have been very close as well... of course I am trying to save my moments with the adorable kids and the beautiful lush flowers on film (or computer , which is the case with my digital world...) .
Illustrating is also sneaking in there as often as possible...it is so much fun to do art!!!

Paradise?
When you plant flowers ...you can create your own little paradise! I am so grateful that I have had this small piece of land and the opportunity to do so. What a blessing . When I am in my garden, I often think of Celia Thaxter and her writings and sentiments about her beloved flowers in her book "An Island Garden" .
The way she talks about each flower with such poetic verse and love amazes me. I especially love her detailed explanation of poppies ,her delicate description of each painted petal is so sweet. She talks about every flower in her garden with love and admiration , as well as the song birds, and toads that serenade the days and nights away. I would recommend the reading of this lovely book to anyone who deeply loves the garden.
